“Vultures 1” is the debut studio album by the American hip hop supergroup ¥$, composed of the rapper Kanye West and the singer Ty Dolla Sign. It was released independently by the former’s YZY brand on February 10, 2024.
Guest appearances include West’s daughter North, India Love, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Nipsey Hussle, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Bump J, Lil Durk, Rich the Kid and Chris Brown. Production was primarily handled by West and Ty Dolla Sign themselves, alongside the Legendary Traxster, 88-Keys, Camper, JPEGMafia, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Ojivolta, Chrishan, Anthony Kilhoffer, and others.
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ignʼs 2024 album VULTURES 1 served as Yeezyʼs first collaborative album since his 2018 album with Kid Cudi, KIDS SEE GHOSTS, and as such, provides the bacchanal-like vibes of a long-awaited reunion. Bridging R&B, classic soulsample rap and the lo-fi electro stylings of late-era West, VULTURES 1 manages to fuse Yeezyʼs go-to production methods with Ty Dollaʼs effortlessly smooth vocals to create something entirely unpredictable.
One standout is the Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid-assisted “CARNIVAL”, which begins with a group chant fit for a soccer stadium before the rappers take turns flexing, making the luxurious life sound more enviable than ever before. West even samples his own song, “Hell of a Life”, making it clear that everyone in his orbit is still living in Yeezyland.
